Mums Moving Forward

'Mum’s Moving Forward’ (ended June 2016)

innovative Peer Support pilot programme focused on reducing isolation and the stigma that is faced by BME women with Baby Blues and Post-Natal Depression in Coventry.

During 9 months, we achieved the following....

  • 118 participants were from rural/Black and Minority Ethnic communities
  • Following intervention 75 women felt more confident about having a baby and or were actively enjoying time with baby
  • 45 wellbeing workshops have been delivered and 114 ladies have accessed these.

This pilot  has now ended. If there are any pregnant ladies or ladies who have just had a baby and experiencing low mood or who are isolated please contact the MAMTA team on 024 76637693 or email:

“Thank you so much for informing me. Before I didn’t know the difference between baby blues and depression, but now I am aware of it. And I am confident about what to do if anything happened. I also know now that I have to contact my GP if the baby blues stayed longer. Thank you again”.

“Information given was very useful. I will use postnatal MAMTA service and friendship group. Thank you for all the information”.
